Parking

Guests are guaranteed a space on our drive. We ask that you are considerate when parking to allow the other guests access to park and leave safely.

Children

Children are welcome at Strand House but unfortunately it is not suitable for under 5s.

Stairs, beams and door ways

Parts of Strand House were built in the 15th century, so it may not be suitable for guests with walking difficulties. The stairs are wonky and many of the beams, ceilings and door ways are very low.

Pets

We are now accepting pets at Strand House. Please contact us before you book to discuss your stay with pets.

Deposits & Cancellations

Deposits: £50/room at time of booking. Non-refundable.

Cancellations: Accepted 8 days or more before check-in day.

For cancellations 7 days or less before check-in day, the full booking will be charged.

Getting Around

Strand House is just a 15 minute walk from Winchelsea Station. From Strand House bus stop, right on our doorstep, you can take a bus to Rye for just £2.00. The busses even accept contactless payments, so no need to worry about cash.

The Local Area & Sites

If you want to explore the local area by foot, Winchelsea is just a 10 minute walk away where you'll find a store with daily essentials, pubs and walks.

A 50-minute walk will get you to Rye, and you'll discover a large collection of restaurants, pubs catering for all tastes. The cobbled streets are lined with independent shops ranging from gifts to clothes to records. Or take a 20-minute stroll to the beautiful Winchelsea coastline.

We also have the Charle Palmer vineyard within walking distance where you can do a cellar tour and tasting.

Finally there is Fairlight and its beautiful hidden glens which are just a 10-minute drive away. Here you'll find many stunning walks, a great café and, of course, Fairlight Hall with 90 acres of gardens, pastures, and woodland.
